Cango Wildlife Ranch was a finalist in the 2018 Sanlam Entrepreneur of the year Awards!

The Entrepreneur of the year Competition is sponsored by South African Power-house Sanlam and Business/Partners. The aim is to honour, benefit and inspire the backbone of the South African economy – our countries’ SME entrepreneurs. The competition elevates and celebrates their unique excellence in entrepreneurship, serving and being an inspiration to others as well as succeeding in the ominous Business World.

What separates this acclaimed award from the rest, is its reach – being open to entrepreneurs in all parts of the country. It is said that this is the most prestigious entrepreneurial competition in South Africa, which is why we opted to apply on behalf of Cango Wildlife Ranch owners. Husband and wife, and entrepreneurial due, Andrew & Glenn Eriksen dedicated more than 30 years of their lives to what we know today as an internationally recognised wildlife conservation and tourism destination.

Due to their relentless drive and passion for animals, their dedicated work has inspired and educated over 3.6 million visitors on the various species Cango Wildlife Ranch is home to. Firm believers of the saying: change starts at home,  they have also been a massive support system for the local community, supplying over 140 families of steady income and regularly reaching out to assist where they can.

In the competition this year, there were 7 categories, and 9 different money prizes. All the way from Oudtshoorn, Cango Wildlife Ranch represented as one of 3 finalists in the Medium Business Entrepreneur category at the Awards-Ceremony in Johannesburg on 4&5 September, and boy was competition stiff.

Though we didn’t bring back the money we did bring back a sense of victory having been celebrated with the best South Africa has to offer. As the South Capes largest privately -owned tourist attraction, to offer our animals optimal care, and our a premium and unforgettable experience, we have to uphold a strong sense of business savvy and innovation. Having been nominated a finalist in a world-class competition celebrating the best entrepreneurs of South Africa, we sure did come back with the prize.
