CANGO WILDLIFE RANCH HAS A VACANCY AS A ZOOLOGICAL ADMINISTRATOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Placement of all animal records onto animal record system (ZIMS)

Assisting curators on writing records to add to record system from daily record book

Upkeep of all permit applications of Cape Nature

Monthly reports of animal department activities

Ensure correct administrative procedures are followed for the attendance register and overtime for Zoological department.

Ensure that purchasing stays within budget (together with Assistant Director:  Zoological)

Communicate with admin for any payment concerns of staff

Ensure sufficient stock of all consumables together with curators

Ensure all Animal Department purchases are correctly processed

Assist with driving when needed

Keeping all records up to date and stored accordingly

Be contactable at all times

Ensure that staff memos are read and signed

Assistance to the Assistant Director:  Zoological with various jobs

Any ad hoc duties that may arise in the animal department.

 

REQUIREMENTS::

Gr 12

Fully literate

Prepared to work weekends and holidays

Sound physical and mental health status

No criminal record

MS office computer skills

Strong administration skills

Able to keep work confidential
Good documentation control
Good verbal, written communication in English and Afrikaans
Some background in record management software, ZIMS would be an advantage

Good secretarial duties and self discipline

South African citizen
